# Steadily > Steadily is fast and affordable landlord insurance — built by landlords, for landlords. > We write policies for rental property owners in all 50 US states, with online quotes > in a couple of minutes and coverage designed around how rental properties actually work. Steadily was founded by a landlord who couldn't find decent insurance for his own rental property, and the product reflects that origin: policies cover the perils landlords actually face (fire, storm and hail, water, vandalism and burglary, riot and civil commotion), plus landlord-specific protections like loss of rent and legal liability that homeowners policies don't address well. Steadily insures long-term and short-term residential rentals — single-family homes, multifamily up to 4 units, ADUs, condos, and vacant or under-restoration properties. Steadily does not currently write commercial property or buildings with 5+ units.
