Today we spotlight Coco, Steadily's talented and welcoming Director of Talent Acquisition.
What is your role at Steadily, and what are your primary responsibilities?
Director of Talent Acquisition. My primary responsibility is to lead recruiting at Steadily and bring on board the best talent!
Can you describe a typical day in your role and what you find most rewarding about it?
My typical day would be reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and direct sourcing. Each day in my role is unique in that I get to meet so many different people and match them to the next step in their career. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have played an important part in changing someone's life by bringing them a new opportunity.
What do you think is unique about working at Steadily that others who are interviewing should know?
I believe all start-ups are great places to work because you feel you are at the forefront of a new idea and bringing that idea to life. Steadily however is special. We are not just molding an early stage product but effectively influencing an entire industry. I have never worked at such an incredible company where everyone is so passionate about their role, their team and the end result. That passion really feeds the magical culture here in office.
Can you share a memorable experience, accomplishment or challenge that you overcame during your time at Steadily?
I did not come from the area or an insurance background when I first joined Steadily. I relocated and started a new job in a new industry all at the same time. It was challenging to absorb so much change at once but I have learned so much since being here, increased my knowledge base and gotten to know the most wonderful people. My leader was incredibly supportive throughout my time here and I feel I now have a great mentor in her.
How does your work at Steadily align with your personal or professional values?
I have always been ambitious, it's what drives me. I love to challenge myself and surround myself with people I can learn from, and that is what I have found at Steadily. You spend so much of your life at work, it is important to love what you do and never stop growing professionally and personally. I am proud to hire talent across the country that can be part of this amazing journey with us and make a difference to our goals.
